1. Provide several suggestions for domain name to be
registered for your web site URL. You can check with http://www.register.com/ to see if the
name is available.
2. Identify business goals and audience for which
the site is designed to reach.
3. Organize site logically into 6 major (top-level) sections
based on goals and audience.
4. Determine what sub pages will go in each
top-level section (less than 8 is best).
5. Gather and write content. Provide all links and
email addresses. Content should speak frankly and honestly to the customer.
Less content is better than more. It should read like one person wrote it,
not several. Deliver as MS Word or ASCII text document,
"Good-to-Go", ready to cut and paste directly into the web page is
recommended.
6. Think ahead about scalability. Will the site be
able to grow comfortably over time? Could any section grow larger than its
current navigation scheme can handle? Maybe the way it's organized will
require too many pages in one section, or some pages may grow too long. It
may have to be re-organized to accommodate it.
7. Include all necessary assets (logos, photos,
illustrations), preferably in digital format. The larger the better,
especially if they need manipulation. Additional charge of $75 per hour for
developing logos and graphics.
8. Provide the following: Due Date, Budget, list of
required deliverables, links to competitors site that we should review, your
wish list, list of what NOT to do.
9.
Permission to
organize the site as we see fit, using the information we are given from
above as a guide (Only if the client needs consulting advice).
